Nov 3rd 2010 Interview: Maddison talks newborn son
Known for conquering the world's largest and most dangerous motorcycle jumps, as well as being a world-class freestyle motocross rider, Australia's Robbie Maddison has recently encountered the most empowering experience of his life ... and it wasn't on a motorcycle. Born October 21 at 6:11 a.m., Kruz King Maddison is Maddo's latest accomplishment, and as he takes on fatherhood for the first time while still trying to maintain his high-profile motocross career, saying the guy's life is a bit hectic would be a major understatement.
Red BullMaddo serves up a Hart Attack at the Red Bull XRAY; an event he helped coordinate in September.
Maddo, first off, congrats on the birth of your first baby boy Kruz King Maddison. He was born in California, but you had to fly out to Australia right after his birth, right?
Yeah, he was born premature in Cali on October 21 and we had to schedule in a time that fit our schedule, which sucked because I believe in the whole natural birth thing and being aligned with the planets and stuff. It was tough, after he was born I only got to be with him for eight hours and then I was away in Australia for 10 days, which tore my heart out.
It was a rough time, out on the Crusty Tour trying to be the face of the tour and keep my mind focused and make that thing as positive as possible. I dropped the ball a couple of times and missed a few media appearances because ... well, there's really no excuse for it, but being a new father really just derailed this train I've been on for a long time -- I had to get off at the station and board another train. I mean, it's just been hectic, you know? Jumping cities, doing media, watching my boys go out there and crush it on the daily and then having to sit there and watch. I can't watch motocross during the best of times, let alone injured with a kid who's on the other side of the world and in and out of ER.
The 10 days I was gone, he was in and out of the hospital, back and forth -- it aged me. Amy [Robbie's wife] had some complications this morning at 3:30 in the morning and I was sitting there with her in the ER and she was noticing I had some gray hairs coming out of the side of my head, and I was like, "That's no surprise."
How has becoming a father changed your perspective on life? Or has it?
Um, it has for sure. There's definitely that little bird on my shoulder -- instead of the devil saying "Just jump it you pussy" -- it's now saying, "You have a little boy over there, so just think about everything." So I'm just trying to make the right decisions, because for me, all I know is getting on my bike and being crazy.
CrustyUnable to ride the Crusty Tour due to a busted wrist, Maddo has been making appearances at each event for his loads of Australian fans.
I know that you've been off your bike this entire time battling a wrist injury; how's that coming along?
Well, I get my pins out tomorrow. This whole time I've been trying to beat the doctors at their system and heal the bones quicker than I can. I started a program about a week after surgery. Dr. G got me using a pulse electromagnetic field device and it pulses an electromagnetic field through the hand and it concentrates the red blood cells to the area. The doctors told me that in a perfect healing situation, which includes not moving the hand at all and not doing anything -- something I find hard to do -- it'll take 12-weeks to heal the bone. But I'm getting my pins pulled out tomorrow, so I've shaved that time in half. The only problem was that I wasn't able to take the device overseas. I was renting it for $500 a week, so I had to buy my own and now I'm $20,000 deep into that bad boy [laughs]. And I just got my medical bills yesterday and insurance isn't covering it so I had to put another $25,000 down as well, so to heal it up in a third of the time cost me 45 g's baby [laughs].
So are you going to be able to make any of that money back by riding the Crusty Tour before it ends?
Well, that's what I'm hoping. I definitely want to jump out of the ceiling in Brisbane in two weeks. I got flipped off and booed by the crowd in Melbourne last week and it kind of breaks my heart because I give everything to the fans and that's the reason I was there and away from my boy. I was there for the fans and I wanted to show up and at least help out Jerry Bernardo on the mic since I couldn't ride. But I was giving it my all and to have the entire front row flipping me off and giving me gestures with their hands kind of got under my skin. So, I jumped out on the floor and confronted the crowd and told them they're all pieces of s--t and got them kicked out.
[laughs] Were they upset because they were expecting you to ride?
Yeah, I think they wanted me to ride and I was staying open-minded telling the media that I was doing all I can to make the Melbourne show. I was even looking at cutting the cast off -- that's how bad I wanted to ride. But the problem is that I'm using one of the world's leading hand and wrist specialists, Dr. Knight out of Beverly Hills, and I made a deal with Dr. Knight that I wouldn't ride until he gave me the clear, so I have to keep my word. He knows what he's doing.
The thing with Crusty Demons is that we're in a long term commitment, so they're like, "Heal up and don't go out and do something stupid on the bike and then find yourself out for even longer." You know, the Crusty Tour is going worldwide now, after Australia we're going to Europe for three months and I've got a gnarly jump to do come the new year -- I'm going to put the life on the line again -- so I'm just trying to weigh it all up, and with my new boy and all these decisions, life has been out of control for me.
Red BullFMX father's Maddison and Jeremy Stenberg plot their FMX course revolution.
Well, now you're back home for a few weeks, how is life in California? How is Kruz doing?
Kruz is killing it man. He's such a little baby, I'm just waiting for that connection level. Not that I want to hurry his life along, he's just such a tiny little guy and he needs to eat, sleep and s--t and have his nappies changed at the moment. But just to look at him, talk to him, smell him and touch him is pretty crazy. A lot of people keep telling me that this is going to slow me down, but I think Kruz is kind of telling me that I need to be on point, and having him there gives me a reason to do the best at everything I do and be the best I can be. I think he's going to help me climb to new heights.
I don't doubt it one bit. Thanks for your time and congratulations on your new grom and good luck on healing your wrist.
Thanks. I just want to throw a shout out to Red Bull, DC, Swatch, Thor, Parts Unlimited, Dunlop, CTi, KMC Wheels, Maxima, Yamaha and all my other sponsors for sticking by me. I mean they've all just been there for me, not only as sponsors, but as friends and without them I'm nothing, so I've gotta throw a shout out to them.
Real quick, speaking of Yamaha, I recently saw a photo you posted on Twitter of all your new bikes. Have you even had a chance to ride them yet?
No, not really, but I've got plans for each and every one of them and the 450 has got FMX written on it, so I might be throwing that thing around soon. I've seen Beau Bamburg whip that thing inside out, and Twitch looks pretty comfy on it and a few other guys are stomping it on the four-strokes. I got a chance to ride it at [Brian] Deegan's before X Games while I was practicing for Speed & Style and I underflipped that thing inside out and I got all the other tricks down. You know, it actually feels better for me, and if mine and Twitch's little plan goes through to revolutionize the layout of a freestyle motocross course, everyone's going to need a 450 to ride what we plan to build.
Wow, that sounds like an entirely different conversation for another time ...
Oh yeah.
Back in Japan until the next Crusty "Thirst 4 Destruction" Tour stop on November 13 in Brisbane, Australia, Metal Mulisha's shortest (respectably) rider Taka Higashino is on top of his game at the moment. With the biggest two wins of his career coming back-to-back (Red Bull XRAY and Dew Tour Salt Lake City), the personable Japanese rider is riding high as 2011 approaches.
To celebrate his awesomeness, ESPN FMX put together this stellar Higashino ride sesh, which took place at Brian Deegan's house prior to the start of the Crusty Tour. Oh, and check out the style on the one-handed switchblade ... kid's got game!

A pro Supercross racer turned FMX superstar, Deegan has been at the forefront of the emerging action sports movement for many years and has the silverware, and scars, to prove it.
With his X Games medal tally well into double digits, Deegan has recently turned his attention to another passion of his, four wheels, and competitively races off-road trucks, rally cars and NASCAR Late Model Stock Cars when his hectic schedule allows.
Deegan is also the founder of cult moto brand, the Metal Mulisha, which is an active supporter and sponsor of riders across the globe, including current Crusty tour talents Jackson Strong and Taka Higashino.

Jetting in for the Brisbane show on November 13, Deegan said he was looking forward to getting back to his roots and joining a number of long-time friends on the Thirst 4 Destruction Tour.
"I can't wait to come back to Australia and ride the Crusty show. Ever since the first show in 99' I've put this tour and the fans at the top of the list. Its time for Mulisha to come back and take over!†Deegan said.

World FMX Trials Champion Jack Field entered the arena via the grandstand stairwell and nailed the worlds lowest ever backflip off a 30cm kicker.

This first glimpse of Crusty's new 'Thirst 4 Destruction' tour course. Notice the dirt landings?
If you follow Robbie Maddison on Twitter then you've probably read a few of his 'tweets' regarding his excitement for the new Crusty Demons 'Thirst 4 Destruction' tour, which is set to begin in Perth, Australia on October 16. Since I'm one of Maddo's nearly 6,000 followers who read his feed daily, his non-descriptive, yet excitable tweets regarding the tour got my attention, and in doing so, I decided to dig a bit deeper and find out what all the hype is all about.
First off, for those of you who may not know, the Crusty Demons brand has been in the business of creating freestyle motocross DVD's for 16 years, and has been producing live shows in Australia for the past decade. But, let's get one thing straight, these haven't been the average run-of-the-mill shows you see at your local state fair -- they're more of a raw and unruly, organized chaos type of production showcasing the world's top talent and the newest evolution in FMX.
And nowhere in the world has any other FMX tour been as nearly successful as the Crusty tour has in Australia, which is pretty much the birthplace of the fully produced, all entertainment and non-competitive FMX tour. "Australia is kind of where we first lit the world on fire with freestyle motocross," says FMX legend Mike Metzger. "It was ridiculous how the fans really took to it."
So with over ten years of kickass shows Down Under, it seems like it would be hard to improve on Crusty's tour legacy. But while talking to one of the brand's creators, Jon Freeman, I discovered that their latest 'Thirst 4 Destruction' tour will do just that ... and more. "This year we will have the most exciting show with motorcycles anyone has ever seen." A bold statement indeed, it was quickly echoed by iconic Crusty cohort, Bubba; "I've been doing the Crusty tour since the beginning and I am absolutely blown away by the new show plan. It is safe to say that the Crusty Demons fans are in for one hell of a show. We are back in a big way!"
You thought last year's 'Beyond the Apocolypse' tour was hot? Wait till you see the new 'Thirst 4 Destruction' capital city tour! Kiss side-by-side jumps goodbye and make way for crisscross jumps ... crazy, right?
So what makes this new tour so special and why has it got everyone, including Maddison, so amped? Well, first off, Crusty has signed Maddison to a multi-year deal as their new ambassador, which means he will play a huge part in the creation of the show from here on out. "I have been riding the Crusty tour for the past eight years and it's great to attain such a big role in the production of the show," said Maddo. "I have actually been looking into doing my own choreographed show for a couple years -- I talked to Feld Entertainment in the States, plus a few others, but that didn't work out, so you can imagine how excited I am to be partnering up with Crusty Demons."
His first idea? Maddison will be repeating the second half of his 2009 Red Bull: New Year. No Limits jump, where he dropped off the Arc de Triomphe replica at the Paris hotel and casino in Las Vegas. For his Crusty version of the drop, Maddo will be raised into the rafters of each arena via a mechanical lift, where he will then proceed to jump back down, dropping over 70-feet and landing on a specially crafted landing.
And for his second idea? Unsatisfied with riders doing crazy tricks right next to each other like in years past, Maddo suggested their flight paths crisscross, rather than run parallel. This will require the guys have perfect timing so they don't collide into each other mid-air. When talking of this new and dangerous ramp setup, Maddo explained, "We had to make sure that we had the world's best riders for this tour, because not only will they be risking danger for themselves, but everything has to go just right or they could take out another rider too."
On the choreography side of things, Crusty has added even more prominent and accomplished figures to the team in the form of David Atkins and Ignatius Jones, who produced the Emmy Award-winning opening and closing ceremonies at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. "We know a bit about arena shows, and we're going to use everything we've learnt to bring our brand of epic theatre to the bad, bad lunacy that is Crusty. We're going to take it to a new place, a truly wild and crazy place," said Jones. "We want to enhance what's already the gnarliest, edgiest FMX show on the planet with some huge new technical effects, a huge new screen, totally demented and brand-new pyrotechnic craziness."
Another glimpse at the new "Mad Max" themed course.
Other additions to the 'Thirst 4 Destruction' tour will include Australian local Jackson 'Jacko' Strong, who will be front flipping 85-feet, and Kain Saul who will be backflipping the 600-pound Harley Davidson XR1200. Also, going back to its OG roots, Crusty is bringing Mike Metzger back for the entire tour, as well as Brian Deegan for the Gold Coast shows. And lastly, sticking to their old school mentality, metal landing ramps are a thing of the past as they'll be constructing each and every course out of dirt. "I think it's fitting that this tour sees us go back to dirt and celebrate the history of the Crusty Demons," said Metzger.
The conclusion? If you live in Australia, you'd be a fool to miss out on one of the six shows that will be sweeping the nation beginning October 16 in Perth. Check out crusty.com for more info on tour dates, cities and general Crusty news.

in roughly 24 hours time we'll find out whether Robbie Maddison, Cam Sinclair, and Levi Sherwood take out one of the Transworld Motocross Awards to be held at The Grove of Anaheim in Southern California. This invite-only event will house professional motocross riders and members of the motocross industry to celebrate this year’s top motocross athletes and honor the many accomplishments they’ve achieved throughout the year.
Maddo and Levi have been nominated in the 'Rider Of The Year' category alongside Travis Pastrana, so that one's going to be a very tough one to pick as all three riders have tasted great success in 2010.
Sincs has been nominated in the 'Breakout FMXer Of The Year' category alongside Andre Villa and Taka Higashino, and with Sincs taking the Gold medal in Big Air at X16 he definitely has a good chance at winning the award.
“Last year’s award show was an amazing event and I am looking forward to an even bigger and better one this October,” said Editor in Chief Donn Maeda. “Working as closely with the riders as we do, it’s almost as exciting for us to present the award as it is for them to receive it.”
The official nominees for the 2010 TransWorld Motocross Awards presented by Rockstar Energy Drink are:
RACER OF THE YEAR
Ryan Dungey
Trey Canard
Christophe Pourcel

Last week, our European contributor Jean Francois Muguet -- who also happens to be the editor of French FMX magazine Freestyle Motocross -- blogged about an event DC Shoes put on in the South of France called the 'All In Show,' which corresponded with the Quiksilver Pro France surf competition, and featured and FMX demo ridden by Nate Adams, Adam Jones, Charles Pagès and Remi Bizouard. From the looks of Jean's photos, the event looked absolutely nuts, but now we got our hands on this sick video -- courtesy of French videographer Mickael Jamet -- which gives us hard evidence that it was indeed poppin' off.
Also worth noting, Charles Pagès has just been added to DC Shoes' moto team. Now all he needs is a gear sponsor so he can quit rocking Dickies shorts and a t-shirt.
Ciao a tutti, per sabato 16 ottobre abbiamo organizzato un party in puro stile “mafia anni ‘30″ al Beer Room!
Venite numerosi, vestiti a tema! Whisky a fiumi! E tante tante sorprese on the road!
Per prepararci all’evento abbiamo fatto un photoshooting a tema con Stefano Brugnola, guardate che scatti! (…non so se avete notato il Pastor [...vete notato il Pastor dove è seduto!!!!).
Crusty Demons star Nate "The Destroyer" Adams has been crowned the 2010 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour Champion for the second consecutive year following a thrilling finale at Rome's Stadio Flaminio.

26-year-old Adams took out third place in front of 20,000 people at the last round of the series and thereby managed to secure back-to-back titles in what has been dubbed the world's most revered freestyle motocross competition.
Adams, who claimed the championship by just five points, successfully defended his title against Norway's Andre Villa, who was on top for the first four rounds.
It was a Crusty Demon's dominated event, with another three riders finishing in the top ten of the championship, including Adam Jones, Robbie Maddison and Mike Mason who placed 4th, 6th and 9th respectively.

Jones, who narrowly missed out on a round win after a gripping final between himself and Danny Torres, said he is at the top of his game right now and is pumped to be heading back down under next week for the Crusty Demon's Thirst 4 Destruction Tour, presented by Woodstock Bourbon.
The Rome event was the final stop for the Crusty crew before they arrive in Australia next Sunday for the T4D national tour, which kicks off at Perth's Burswood Dome on Saturday October 16.
Following his incredible victory in the Eternal City, Adams is in fine form for the arena spectacular where he is set to wow fans with his unrivalled FMX ability.
Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, Nate Adams started his career racing motocross but soon found his calling in FMX. Fresh out of High School and in his first year going pro, Adams won his first freestyle championship at age 18.
Since then he has collected an incredible 12 X Games medals as well as titles for Gravity Games, Vans Triple Crown and now back-to-back Red Bull X-Fighters titles.
Adams is undoubtedly one of the best freestyle motocross riders on the planet and has a longstanding reputation for awesome new innovations of current tricks. He was the first to master a backflip with a no-hander landing in competition and was also the first rider in the world to beat Travis Pastrana in a Freestyle Motocross event.
Now, Adams is set to bring his FMX skills down under for The Crusty Demons Thirst 4 Destruction arena spectacular, which will tour the country starting in Perth on October 16. For more information on the tour, visit www.crusty.com

While the rest of the world was tuned into the final round of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour in Rome, France's Charles Pagès, USA's Beau Bamburg, Brody Wilson and Scott Murray, and Canada's own Benoit Milot were putting it down at the 33rd annual Montréal Supercross -- or as the French Canadians call it -- the Supermotocross de Montréal. Aside from the local professional NHL and CFL teams, the Montréal Supercross is the oldest running sporting event in Montreal.
As Canada's biggest motocross attraction of the year, the 2010 Montréal Supercross featured an MX1 (450cc) and MX2 (250cc) race, an ATV quad race, and competition-based freestyle motocross exhibition, which all took place in Montréal's Olympic Stadium -- built as the main venue for the 1976 Summer Olympics.
For the FMX portion of the event, Murray somewhat successfully landed his double backflip for the vocal crowd on hand, but not before Page?s, Bamburg, Wilson and Milot went at it on the three-ramp, one-landing setup located in the middle of the track, with Page?s walking away the victor. In the MX1 class it was USA's Nick Wey who walked away with the win, while Canada's own Kaven Benoit nailed down the MX2 class win.

Spaniard Dany Torres wins the final round of Red Bull X-Fighters in Rome, Italy, but it was American Nate Adams who won the championship on a count-back after both he and rival for the title, Andre Villa, were knocked out in the semi.
On a dirt course that set like concrete the monster tricks pulled were greeted with hard landings on a surface that was slippery, and a layout that forced riders to be innovative to get the most jumps out of their runs.
Three riders in qualifying felt just how tough the dirt surface was when they came crashing down hard in their runs. First was Libor Podmol, who raced down the side of the course on entry, grabbed a handful of front brake at warp speed to pull a stoppie and was sent flying up high over the bars when his front wheel hit a small rock and sketched out. He flew through the air then bounced along the ground coming to a stop 15 odd metres later and breaking his collarbone in the process.
Then Remi Bizouard had an unfortunate accident after time in his first run. He pulled a massive Cliffhanger Flip and didn't get the rotation he needed and crunched into the lander tumbling to the bottom. Luckily he was only bruised and battered, and recovered by round one to join the main event.
Cam "Sincs" Sinclair was the third rider to taste the hard packed dirt. Going for the Double Flip straight out of the gate everyone was on the edge of their seats biting finger nails and nervous as hell hoping Sincs would ride away clean from the trick that nearly claimed his life in competition at Madrid X-Fighters one year earlier. Once again the set-up wasn't quite perfect as it needed to be for this gnarly trick. Sincs worked with the course builders to try and get it right, but the truth is the lander really wasn't quite high enough and the angle of the lander not steep enough, something Sincs knows well now as he made the double rotation but the impact with the lander was so heavy, and his weight was slightly forwards when landing, and the front end of his Yami 250 couldn't handle the pressure and washed out throwing Sincs straight to the ground. He got straight back up to ride on, but his shoulder wasn't up to it ending his final appearance at X-Fighters in 2010. He is a very lucky man, could have been a lot worse!

Back to the title contenders Villa and Adams. Adams sat highest on the points table after two qualifying runs, then Villa, sitting in third after his first run, decided not to do his second run as he thought it would be better to face Adam Jones in the semi over Dany Torres, a choice he now regrets as when the semis played out both Torres and Jones produced killer runs that knocked both contenders out so the overall was decided off the qualifying results. Villa's idea nearly paid off, but towards the end of his semi run he faltered on two Flip tricks producing what at this level is considered two Dead Sailor Flips. He gambled, but end of the night it didn't roll his way, and giving credit where credit is due, Adams didn't miss a beat all competition and deservedly took the overall win. He narrowly lost out to Torres in that semi, who was riding the best we'd seen him all season.

Torres produced some killer runs throwing down massive Grab Flip tricks, and tech combos that took him all the way through to the final showdown against Jones. The two minute final was a hard fought battle, both riders throwing down amazing tricks, and to split hairs at the end it was Jones fluffing his last trick that gave Torres the edge and winning his first Red Bull X-Fighters round of the year.

It was an emotional end to the championship, the highs for Adams and Torres, and the low for Villa, who led the championship race all the way from the first round to the last. Villa was gracious in defeat, taking his loss like a true gentleman and champion that he is, it's just a pity that there can only be one champion though, and for 2010 it's Nate Adams for the second year in a row.
Congrats to you mate, you have proved once again you're one of the greatest FMX riders in the modern era of the sport.
Bring on 2011, it's going to be incredible!

In a city which has witnessed more than its fair share of legendary gladiatorial battles, the duel for the overall World Tour title could
barely have been closer going into the final stop of the season. At the
end it was Americas Nate Adams who emerged victorious by the smallest
of margins just 5 points from the head-to-head showdown with
Andre Villa (NOR). The victory means that Adams successfully defend his
title, while Villa, who finished on the podium at the first four of the
six stops in 2010, was left to rue chances missed in the season.
Back in late June, ESPN.com/Action contributor Alyssa Roenigk spoke with Metal Mulisha General Brian Deegan about his NASCAR ambitions. Now, one race into it, Deegan checked in with ESPN News from the Los Angeles studios to discuss why he decided to race, how his FMX experience translates to NASCAR, and how the Metal Mulisha will be good for the sport. Metzger films for new Discovery 3D network
Joseph RayDiscovery outfitted Metz with this sweet 3D HD helmet cam rig.
Always up to something big, the Godfather of Freestyle Motocross, Mike Metzger, just wrapped a film shoot at his riding facility in Menifee, Calif. on Monday, filming for Discovery Channel's new 3D network. According to MOB Syndicate team manager and long time friend of Metz, Ed Allumbaugh, Discovery Channel is launching a fulltime 3D network in January of 2011 that will include a 10-segment series featuring various action sports, with Metzger being the focus of the FMX episode.
He further explained, "Each episode of the action sports-based series will be like an hour-long documentary about each different sport. The FMX episode is mostly based around Mike, but it's also about the life of a freestyler and the daily routine -- you know, like what it takes to do backflips, the injuries that come along with it, the training and so on."
Assisting Metzger in the five-hour shoot, a handful of his So Cal-based MOB Syndicate team riders were being filmed as well. "On top of interviewing me, they also did an interview with all the riders that showed up like Javier Villegas and Gabriel Villegas , James Carter, Julian Dusseau, and a couple other local dudes that ride," stated Metzger. He finished, "I think it's going to be really good -- it's always cool to be involved with something new."
Joseph RayJames Carter with a solid no-handed flip.
Being that Discovery's new network will feature a cutting-edge 3D viewing experience, the equipment used was also extremely unique. On top of the main tripod-mounted 3D cameras on the ground, the film crew was using a boom/jib camera, multiple helmet cams and an interesting helicopter-type camera that flew beside the riders as they were jumping. "I was talking with the producer and he told me that the footage they got with the helicopter -- I guess you can call it that -- was the best they've captured yet and completely unreal," said Allumbaugh, who was on location throughout the day.
According to Discovery's website, the new 3D network will feature high-quality premium content from genres that are most appealing in 3D, including natural history, space, exploration, adventure, engineering, science and technology, motion pictures and children's programming. Although the action sports series on the new network will undoubtedly offer an incredible viewing experience, it's likely to take a good amount of time to fully takeover the American household due to the fact that a 3D-equipped TV set is required.
Next on the agenda is a shoot with skateboard legend Bob Burnquist at his home in Vista, Calif., which should be pretty stellar because of the mega ramp he has on his property.

Final result Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010
1. Nate Adams
2. Andre Villa
3. Dany Torres
Oh bella Roma – what a day, what an event. In the afternoon we had a wonderful FMX World member meeting (own report coming) and then it was time for the grand finale. I was there among 18.000 other crazy fans and some cool FMX World members.
And we saw an unbelievable show – it was maybe not the typical Red Bull X-Fighters location - but it was a great course and FMX at the highest level.
1st round result:
Massimo Bianconcini 379,50
Mike Mason 398,50
Josh Sheehan 401,00
Brice Izzo 404
Quarter final:
Mat Rebeaud vs Dany Torres: 1-4
It was clear after his first run: Dany Torres was on fuego – he was so hot – and pulled huge tricks like the double grab flip or the heelclicker & indy flip combo
Remi Bizouard vs Andre Villa: 0-5
Remi crashed in the quali earlier today so he was not 100% fit but still displayed a great range of tricks – but it was not enough to stop Andre Villa who really wanted this overall title. Villa showed all his tricks in unique Villa style.
Brice Izzo vs Adam Jones: 1-4
Brice had a great run but Egypt winner Adam Jones just opened his enormous bag of tricks and threw out flip combo after flip combo.
Josh Sheehan vs Nate Adams: 0-5
This was rock'n'roll vs rap, Aussie vs USA, Newcomer vs Veteran. 1st time X-Fighter Josh Sheehan had a lot of fun and shocked the audience with his sick and breathtaking ruler flip. But the "godfather" of FMX Nate Adams destroyed any hopes of the young gun with yet another perfect run.
Semi finals
Andre Villa vs Adam Jones. 0-5
So the table was set for the real grand finale – everybody in house expected Villa and Adams to win their semi finals but… Andre had a strong run and was almost in the final when he missed the cliffhanger flip and then the cordova flip on his last two jumps. This shattered his dreams of winning the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010. But Andre - you still rocked this season!
Dany Torres vs Nate Adams: 3-2
Nate knew he already defended his title from last year but of course he wanted a victory in Rome but Dany Torres was equal but the Spanish rider had the crowd on his side.
The final:
Dany Torres vs Adam Jones
Dany Torres delighted the fans with his third performance of the night including all his tricks in almost perfect extensions and with the 30 seconds extra time in the final he threw in two more flip combos. But Adam Jones was top too, great style, cool jumps, flawless until the very last jump. And yes: The last jump of the 2010 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour decided the final event. Jones missed the trick and Dany took the title in Roma.
I loved this event – and I will rock the after party. See you there.
Andre Villa left and Nate Adams ready for battle! Photos courtesy of www.redbull.com
After a full day of practice here in Rome at the last Rd of Red Bull X-Fighters the pressure is all on two men Andre Villa and Nate Adams! The only two riders who are capable of the winning overall with only five points separating them after five rounds.
Two guys who have ridden awesome throughout the whole series, have been the most consistent, and in less than 24hrs time will find out what they're made of as they compete against each other under extreme pressure for the crown of the world's greatest FMX series Red Bull X-Fighters! Who will take the crown is the question everyone is asking, and after watching both Villa and Adams warm up in practice it's clear they will both bring everything they have in their bag of tricks to try win the title when the competition gets underway.
Josh Sheehan was getting his 360's and Underflips dialled in practice. Photo courtesy of www.redbull.com
They won't have it easy along the way though as there's a few riders hitting top form that could upset either Villa or Adams along the way in the Head to Head format leading to the final. Spaniard Dany Torres is looking the best we've seen him in the series so far, pulling out some sweet combos and monster Flip tricks in practice. Another combo master Adam Jones is also looking good, and if he pulls together all the tricks he's capable of he'll be able to knock out the best of them. Then there's the likes of Mat Rebeaud, who has been getting stronger with each round and would like to end the year with a round win, and Remi Bizouard, who is fitter and had more time on the bike than his previous X-Fighters appearance in Madrid, likewise Libor Podmol, who has learned from his previous X-Fighters comps entered and could easily cause an upset against any one of the top riders. Current Night Of The Jumps IFMXF world championship series 2nd placed rider Brice Izzo is another one to watch, as is local boy Massimo Bianconcini. Cam Sinclair is working hard on perfecting his set-up for the Double Flip and knows what it will take to pull it in his run, and that trick along with a solid run if he nails it could see him also challenging for a podium spot. The dark horse and an unknown to most riders Josh Sheehan, and the only 4-stroke 450cc rider, could be right there in the mix, and what about Mike Mason, who skipped most of practice, he can't be counted out when qualifying rolls around. Even with the likes of Levi Sherwood and Robbie Maddison out of the last round of the series it's going to be one hell of a tough competition, not just for the riders but for the judges as well. Make sure you tune in as it's not going to be a comp you want to miss!

The 16th annual freestyle.ch Zurich was a hit despite the weather. 28,000 freestyle fans gathered at the Landiwiese to cheer on their freestyle superstars. Victory went to Gjermund Bråten in snowboarding, Henrik Harlaut in freeskiing, Dany Torres in FMX and Sandro Dias in skateboarding.
The entire FMX and skateboarding contests were shifted to Sunday due to heavy rainfall. Of the top 4 contenders in the FMX final, it was last year's FMX champion, Danny Torres, who grabbed the title for a second time. The Swiss French Mat Rebeaud had to settle for second place: «Of course, it would have been nice to switch places with Dany, but I'm quite happy with second place.» The crowd's favorite, Sandro Dias, dominated in skateboarding. The Brazilian impressed with a remarkable consistency, incredibly high airs and perfect alley oop 540°s. «My last win at freestyle.ch was back in 2008. The audience here always did such a good job of cheering me on, so I really wanted to finally win again this year. I was pretty nervous and decided lean on the side of caution – and it went perfect, I'm on cloud nine!» says Dias.
Crusty Demons set to showcase local Perth sensations
Still chilling in the States after nabbing a silver medal at X Games 16, New Zealand's Levi Sherwood is healing up (and watching the season premier of HBO's "Eastbound and Down" on repeat) after breaking his femur at the ASA World Championships of FMX. But before that fateful day in Pomona, Sherwood linked up with his clothing sponsor Unit Clothing for a quick game they like to call "First and Last."
More episodes of "First and Last" can be found online at unitriders.com. Kenny Powers would be proud.

Hailing from Wilga in Western Australia, Roney is the Crusty Demons’ youngest ever grommet. The St Mary's Boyup Brook student has been riding since he was just 2-years-old and will make his highly-anticipated Crusty Demons debut in Perth.
Perth’s own The Bad Piper, who gained national recognition after appearing on Australia’s Got Talent, will also return to familiar soil for the tour and is set to captivate fans with his theatrical world first, flame-throwing, punk-rock piper act.
Otherwise known as Cam McAzie, The Bad Piper is looking forward to his first tour with the Crusty Demons.
“This will be the biggest thing I have ever done in my career,†McAzie stated.
“I have idolised the Crusty Demons for 10 – 15 years now so the possibility to work with them is a dream come true and something I never thought I would do in a musical sense.
“As a musician I never knew where my career was going and certainly never envisaged that my biggest musical exposure would come from a non musical event.
“It is so not music but it sits so well. I am the ‘backflipping dirtbike’ of modern music and I will be showcasing extreme music for extreme motorcycles,†he concluded.

sezione "use of course" (utilizzo del tracciato). Nelle ultime
settimane si parla molto di questo evento, leggete cosa ne pensano
Alvaro e Bianconcini sul sito Red Bull Italia, o su ruscibar.it.
Eigo Sato!
After a small surgery to remove gall stones, that
didn't let him go to the London stop of Red Bull X-Fighters, Alve is
back to his engagements. The 12th of september the "Splash Party
Summer Edition" closed the summer. The sport and entertainment event
organized by Alvaro and friends was amazing! If you want to read a
report (italian only) and watch some pic click here.
After this chapter we go back to
motorsports: there are great expectations for the X-Fighters finals
(2nd of October, Rome). This time too Alve will use his knowledge
about fmx to judge the contest, in "use of course" section. In the
last weeks italians (and not only) speack a lot about this event.

Nate Adams ist the worthy winner of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2009. He has won Fort Worth Texas and the Season Final in London. And 2010?
Nate Adams is still in the race for the title. What makes him mentally so strong? Nate Adams is looking for a quiet place where nobody can find him. At this place he tells us his approach to the
grande finale of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010 in Rome.
Mike Mason made a promise on his facebook profile today which goes as:"When I get to 5,000 fans I'm going to get naked, do a handstand, and go pee...See if I can't hit my face with my own urine! Yewww haha"
In case you wanna see him do that, fan him and let´s see if he will keep up to his promise.
Mike has 4200 fans now, with 800 member likes out of this community he should hit his 5.000 number pretty soon.
This past Saturday marked the first time FMX competition has been included in the Dew Tour since 2008. Choosing Salt Lake City as the destination to host the monumental event, the contest went off without a hitch as the packed the stands to watch the boys battle it out in a new head-to-head format, which eventually saw Taka Higashino take his first-ever Dew Tour win.
Beyond Higashino taking the win, I know there has been some misunderstanding as to how the rest of the results played out. After doing some research and talking to the good people at Alli, I learned that unlike most contests, there were not any rankings after first place due to the elimination-round format. Alli Sports' Katie Trosky was able to break it down for me via email. Here's what she had to say:
"There really isn't a seating order for this contest because it was an elimination-round style of competition. The riders were narrowed down from 16 to 8 to 4 to the final 2, so it's like the NCAA tournament where same riders are knocked out at once and one necessarily isn't placed higher than the other if they were both knocked out in the same round."
The trick mania goes on – IFMXF summer break ends with the Freestyle Motocross World Cup in Cologne
On October 9th 2010 the Suzuki NIGHT of the JUMPs / FIM Freestyle MX World Championship returns to Lanxess arena Cologne. Equal to 2008 the World Cup in Cologne takes place during the Intermot motorbike expo. It will be the first contest after the summer break and the riders are on fire. Brice Izzo and Jose Miralles will smash all of their tricks onto the track to attack World Championship leader Libor Podmol.
After six rounds of the FIM Freestyle MX World Championship Czech Libor Podmol leads with 112 points ahead of Brice Izzo (FRA) and Jose Miralles (ESP), both with 86 points. They will present a bunch of new tricks to beat Podmol and close the gap towards him.
World Champion Remi Bizouard will return to the IFMXF in Cologne. After his long-term injury the French superstar will take his minimal chance to get back in the fight for the title. There are still seven rounds of the FIM Freestyle MX World Championship left and 140 points to give. So everything is possible.
With Massimo Bianconcini (ITA), Alastair Sayer (BOT) and Brody Wilson (USA) No. 5 and 6 of the World Championship will join the field of riders. Bianconcini has 62 points on his account. Sayer and Wilson are following with 47 points each. Fir sure they worked on new tricks during the summer and try to attack for the places on the podium.
Against this fleet of international FMX heroes the best German Freestylers Fabian Bauersachs, Hannes Ackermann and Lukas Weis will battle. Bauersachs lately won the German Championship ahead of his rivals and wants to rule in the World Championship as well. But Hannes Ackermann worked on new backflip combos in the summer and Lukas Weis did a 360 on dirt. So we will see a most spectacular FMX fight in and the entire FMX and motor sports world will look to Cologne.
In celebration of the 10years anniversary of the NIGHT of the JUMPs series the crowd in Lanxess arena will see the amazing Race-and-Style contest and for the first time a backflip on a snowmobile. All motorcycle and FMX fans should come to the NIGHT of the JUMPs Cologne as every ticket allows free entrance for one day at the Intermot expo.

All the riders where stocked to see the fresh new fmx set up Black Duck Valley had built for the competition and with a nice variety of hits including two 75ft ramps and 85ft ramp and a 65ft dirt hit things were looking like being a lot of fun.
With the field of 12 riders qualifying was a simple seeding round to see who would be getting matched up in the head to heads. Tiger Racing Yamaha rider Luke Saunders was the pick of the field and seeded first followed by Flightpath’s Matt Smith and SRH Yamaha’s Adam Grope.
The head to head heats saw some intensely tight competition where one little mistake was all it generally took to be knocked out of the competition. Dickies Suzuki rider Rhys Hillier managed to turn his poor qualifying result around and get himself to the final with some incredibly smooth riding and nice Backflip combo’s. In the end the three men left standing for the final where Rhys Hillier, Luke Saunders and Adam Grope.
All three riders left nothing in the bag as they gunned for that first place. Adam Grope’s run included massive dead body combo’s while Luke Saunders grab tricks had everyone’s jaw hitting the floor. In the end though they wouldn’t be enough to beat out Hillier’s super smooth flips and effortless style. Grope followed closely in 2nd with Luke rounding out 3rd.
With the final round now moved to Gympie in QLD on October 2nd, the return of Jason Rozycki and only 8 points separating 1st through 5th its still anyone's championship.
Huge thanks for the weekend go out to Todd Back and his family for hosting the amazing event at their small farm in Boonah. Also to our great sponsors for their ongoing support, RFDmx, Tiger Racing, NMR, Project FMX, LooseKid Industries, Gambler Body Designs, Dirty Pumper, Grief Clothing Co, Russell Brothers Films, FreeriderMX, Northline, PDL Toll, NT Motorsports.

Godfather of Freestyle Motocross joins worlds best for Crusty Demons tour
The undisputed Godfather of FMX, Mike Metzger has confirmed he will return to Australia for the first time in nearly 10 years, leading the strongest line-up of international riders down under for the Crusty Demons Thirst 4 Destruction action sports spectacular.
Metzger will be joined on the Crusty Demons Thirst 4 Destruction tour, presented by Woodstock Bourbon, by some of world’s best FMX riders, including yesterday’s Dew Tour (Salt Lake City) winner Taka Higashino and runner-up Mike Mason.
Between the eight confirmed international riders, they boast over 30 X-Games medals, multiple world records and over 100 international FMX titles.
Acknowledging the opportunity to work with one of the world’s top 20 promoters, Dainty Consolidated Entertainment, was a key factor in luring him back on tour with the Crusty Demons, Mike Metzger said he was excited at the direction the new tour was taking.
“I can t wait to get out there for the Crusty Demons tour. I have been wanting to get back to Australia for a lot of years but it hasn’t worked out before,” said Metzger.
“I guess almost 10 years on is the right time to head back, it has a nice fit and it feels right. The line-up in insane and the show plan itself is something I just had to be part of.
“Australia is kind of where we really first lit the world on fire with Freestyle Motocross. It was ridiculous how the fans really took to it. It is fitting that this tour sees us go back to dirt and celebrate the history of the Crusty Demons,” Metzger concluded.
The rider line-up resembles a who’s who of FMX with the top echelon of the sport signing up to be part of this history making tour.
Nate Adams (12 times X Games Medalist), Adam Jones (8-time X-Games medalist), Taka Higashino (current X- Games Best Trick bronze medalist & Dew Tour SLC winner) Mike Mason (multiple X-Games medalist) and Beau Bamburg (multiple FMX title holder) cement the impressive rider line-up that will come together in less than a months time for the first show in Perth.
Higashino, who is being hailed by his peers as the best rider in the world at the moment, won yesterday’s Dew Tour Salt Lake City final ahead of fellow Crusty Demon’s rider Mike Mason.?
Fresh from celebrating his runner-up placing Mason confirmed the tour was shaping to be the best yet.
“I am especially excited about this tour, it always exciting to ride in Australia but this tour is really going to be something else,” Mason stated.
“The new show plan is awesome, we have the best rider line-up ever with a bunch OG’s and some exciting new kids.
“What is really great is that we are joining our creative forces with David Atkins & Ignatius Jones, the masterminds of the Vancouver and Sydney Olympic Games ceremonies. It makes you more amped to see how it is going to turn out,” he said.
The brand new, never before seen show will unleash two months of thrilling action, kicking off in Perth on October 16, before carving a path of destruction across the country.

An email came through this morning from Tes Sewell from Red Bull X-Fighters on the search for a replacement rider to fill Rob Adlberg's spot at the last stop in Rome. It was the first we'd heard that Rob had a big one while competing at the Dew Tour over the weekend. Then talking to Unit's Simon Makker, who had spoken to Rob's partner Stacey last night, he said Rob has been under the knife today to repair the long list of broken bones including tib and fib on right leg, shattered right ankle, broken left ankle and broken right wrist. "Apparently his first surgery went really well today though, which is great news," Smakka then emailed us a little later.
From reports Rob was riding killer, had qualified second, and looked good for a win or at least podium spot. Now Rob will miss his next shot at Red Bull X-Fighters at Rome in two weeks, which is a double blow for the popular Aussie freestyler. From everyone at FRMX we wish Rob the speediest of recoveries so he can get back on top of his game and return to competing against the world's best riders, a place he really deserves to be!
Regarding the Dew Tour a big congrats to Taka Higashino for winning the event. The kid is on fire with two big wins in two weeks, the other being the Red Bull XRay event in Oz. Taka beat Mike Mason in the final.
Taka Higashino and Mike Mason take top two spots at Dew Tour
Editor: Stay tuned for an exclusive Steve Densmore-shot photo gallery from Salt Lake City.
Taka Higashino won the first Dew Tour contest of his career after consistently posting the highest scores of the night to claim the win at the Toyota Challenge FMX competition.
Running a head-to-head format where the rider with the better score advanced to the next round, the Dew Tour's FMX contest featured some of the sport's biggest names -- including Jeremy "Twitch" Stenberg, Mike Mason and Adam Jones -- competing in four rounds to determine the overall winner.
The semifinals featured a battle between Ronnie Faisst and Mike Mason and another pitting Twitch and Taka against one another. Mason's lazy boy backflip and backflip heel clicker put him into the finals, while Taka got full extension on all of his tricks to knock out his competition, even treating the fans to a few extra tricks after time had expired.
In the final matchup of the night, Mason strung together a Superman flip and another backflip heel clicker for a clean, consistent run that earned him an 86.50.
However, Taka could not be denied, and the Japanese rider made a clean sweep of the night, posting an 89.00 thanks to a double grab indy, stripper flip and double grab backflip.
Freerider MX #63 is loaded to the brim this month with everything from the world of FMX. We’ve got the 10 defining moments from X Games 16, 2010, where the Australasian invasion was in full effect and saw a swagger of medals for our hero’s from Down Under. Dayne Kinnaird, who was once Australia’s greatest FMX rider and killing it on the international scene, breaks the silence on a why his FMX career ended, talks about drugs and his divorce and what he’s doing now. On top of all that we’ve got two globe trotting features from South Africa and Japan where our esteemed photog Ricky Monti ventured into the unknown to see how FMX is done in different parts of the world. We also caught up with Bilko, Sincs and the Southside crew in Melbourne to find out what it's like to be a part of Australia's tightest crew of riding mates. You can also win a gear pack from AXO and EKS brand goggles just for subscribing. So, check it all out in newsagents from September 22.

Like Jack Nicholson peering menacingly through the door in The Shining, FMX at the Dew Tour is "Baaaaack!"
FMXers have been hanging around at Dew Tour stops in the past couple of years, putting on some entertaining FMX demos, but now that's a thing of the past -- this is the real deal, certified 100%. Actual full-scale competition is back at Dew, and on Friday, September 17th in Salt Lake City, the first legit FMX battle to take place at the Dew Tour in years will commence.
Obviously excited about the new addition, 2008 Dew Tour champion Adam Jones told ESPN.com, "I'm excited to see FMX coming back as a legit contest. I hope everything goes good and next year Dew Tour can be a full, competitive series for us. It was always nice to have some contests in the States!"
Deegan's Still Got It! Brian deegan, metal mulishaThis past weekend saw the last round of the AMA Outdoor Nationals take place at Pala Raceway, and it provided some epic racing with our own Brett Metcalfe clinching and impressive second place overall in the 450 class. It wasn't the only exciting action taking place as right before the last round kicked off another event called the Crossover Challenge was held for athletes past and present, freestyle to track, in many disciplines who came together on one common ground to race it out! Twitch, Scummy, Faisst, Manley, Renner and many other riders were there to give it a shot at the podium. But it was the general Brian Deegan who took 1st place in both motos and you can watch the legend cutting some laps during his race captured by the GOPRO helmet cam he was wearing on his helmet. You'll quickly notice that the General has still got the pace on the track!
Ciao a tutti, il magazine di Krasnodar (una delle città Russe che ho visitato nei mesi scorsi durante l’Adrenaline Tour) mi ha dedicato la copertina e un bel servizio con intervista e foto!

Crusty Demons 15: Blood, Sweat & Fears on DVD and Bluray.
The greatest FMX stars assemble for the monumental release of Crusty 15 featuring Robbie Maddison, Kain Saul, Cam Sinclair Jackson Strong and Seth Enslow. For the first time in High Definition Blu-ray, witness the masters of madness pull off the Double Blackflip, Frontflip, The Vault and put a Harley Davidson upside down, just to name a few awesome new stunts. Also features 8 bonus pieces of footage and over 90 gallery images from a year of Crusty carnage. DVD and Blu-ray available now at JB Hi Fi and Sanity.
If all goes according to plan, the world's gnarliest dirt biker alive, Robbie Maddison, will be a father within the next month, and you know what that means ... his baby boy is going to be one crazy little daredevil. On top of inheriting his dad's psychotic genes, baby Maddo will also be living in the lap of luxury that his father has been building on for his entire career.
While out in Temecula, ESPN FMX's Cliff Talley swung by Maddo's stateside crib to get a tour of ... well, his babies new crib. From an awesome blanket given to him by Nate Adams to multiple pairs of dope baby DC shoes, little Maddo is going to be one stoked kid as soon as he busts out his momma's womb. Peep.
Unit Clothing's X Games FMX silver medallist, Levi Sherwood, is facing three months of PS3 time after breaking his femur and fracturing his wrist at the ASA FMX World Championships at Pomona, CA last Saturday.
The 18-year-old's crash has destroyed his hopes of beings a contender
for the 2010 Red Bull X-Fighters crown, with the final round in Rome
slated for October 1.
Levi’s manager, Russ Stratton, says doctors inserted a rod and two
screws to repair the femur, but no surgery was required on the wrist.
Within 48 hours he was out of bed and walking with the aid of a walker,
and was discharged from hospital on this morning.
His doctor, Paul Reiman, relayed a positive prognosis and expects Levi will be back on a bike in three months’ time.
Watching top FMX pros beat themselves up on the race track never gets old.
This past weekend, a slew of the sport's best FMX riders and industry insiders battled it out a few days before the final AMA National at Pala Raceway for the 10th annual GoPro Crossover Challenge. Racing on the same track as the pros did the following Saturday, the conditions proved challenging for even the most skilled FMXer's, but it was Metal Mulisha General Brian Deegan who put his head down and proved that he is indeed the fastest FMX rider in the world.
ESPN FMX contributing photographer Chris Tedesco was on hand to snap flicks of all the action, and luckily for us, he blessed us with a stellar photo gallery from the event.

Taka Higashino had a successful weekend in Australia, taking the win in FMX and finishing second in Speed & Style at the Red Bull XRAY.
The 2010 Red Bull XRAY, presented by Robbie Maddison went off this past weekend in the picturesque hills of Picton's (NSW) Razorback mountains, where 15,000 hardcore Australian FMX watched their favorite riders compete in this one of a kind event.
Qualifying first in the FMX sector of the event, hometown hero and event creator Maddison looked to be the man to beat, repeating his flawless win in 2009. But, with such stiff competition coming from Japan's Taka Higashino, and last-minute entry, Brody Wilson -- and his nagging wrist injury -- Higashino would eventually get the best of Maddo. The FMX final came down to a battle between Higashono and Maddo as they battled it out head-to-head. Both riders threw down big flips tricks that were rarely seen all weekend due to the challenging course, but it was Higashino who was victorious after fitting an extra jump into his run, as well as throwing down a massive seat-grab flip over the 120-ft. tabletop chased down by another flip over the return jump.
"I'm super happy," said the likeable Japanese rider. "I'm so tired! We rode so much -- three entire days, but it was so much fun. Maddo gave me a good challenge today, but I'm super stoked for the win!"
Maddo gives props where props are due.
Maddo happy for Higashino, but more than anything he was just thankful to get through that portion of the contest without hurting his wrist any further. "I've riding with Taka a lot the last year and I'm so stoked for him," said Maddo. "Once again, this event has worked out so well and it's unreal to so many of my hometown fans come out and cheer us on," He went on to finish, "My wrist has been giving me a bit of grief and when Taka stepped it up for the final run, I knew I just had to give it everything I could. I'm happy though and here to ride another day."
Brody Wilson rode strongly to finish in third place, edging out X Games gold medalist Cameron Sinclair.
With a stacked field of both national level racers and international FMX stars, the Speed & Style portion of the event proved to be just as exciting as the year prior. In the final round, it was FMX winner Taka Higashino and FMX/racer Robbie Marshall who battled it out in the head-to-head format. In the end, Marshall's sheer speed and polished tricks were enough to nab him the win ahead of Higashino, even though he flipped multiple jumps and pulled bigger tricks than Marshall.
"I'm Super stoked on winning speed and style," said Marshall. "It was a great weekend and I had a ball with boys. The five grand is going to look pretty good in my bank account too!"
It's a bit hard to tell from this photo, but Maddo wasn't on his "A-game" due to a nagging wrist injury.
Domenica 12 Settembre | Spiaggia Baywatch | Lago di Santa Croce | Loc. Poiatte, Farra D'Alpago BL
Anche il clima è stato dalla nostra parte: un caldo sole ha aiutato tutti i partecipanti a superare la diffidenza verso l’acqua del lago, non gelida ma comunque freschetta…;
Entro prochi giorni il video ufficiale dell’evento sarà pronto, quindi state sintonizzati!!!
PS. un ringraziamento a tutti gli sponsor, a chi ci ha dato una mano per allestire il tutto, ai djs che ci hanno salvato con il loro impianto audio, ma soprattutto a tutti quelli che sono venuti a divertirsi insieme a noi! (:
The summer is always full of shows. I can hardly remember the times when i could rest a little.
Recently I went to Vanni's place, which is not far from Savona.
Every year Vanni organise a charity show for african people. He raises money and then his brother and friend Diego go to Africa by car to reach the most dangerous and forgotten villages.
But it wasn't the only charity show during this month. Also KTM invited me to jump (what a coincidence) for Africa. I'm glad there are people who care about others and i'm happy i had occasion to help.
Next show (this time it wasn't a charity) took place in Arco di Trento, beautiful city in the mountains. We're trying to improve our performances and make them more attractive for the public, that's why we came up with an idea to put two girls on the landingwhile jumping. These two girls were Speed Race Energy Drink hostess and they've done great job standing up there on their high heels.
But the most important stop for me during that week was my village, where i organised 2-day show in memory of my dad. I'm very thankful to all the riders who came to jump and to the public that was standing in the rain while watching the show.
Few days ago I went to train with Miki Monti. this trip was more relaxing, because beside riding we were also swimming in the sea, having fun on Miki's boat and one day we also visited Mirabilandia.
Now i've been training in foam pit and i've learned new spectacular trick! But let's keep it as a secret, let it be a surprise that i'm going to show on Red Bull X Fighters.
By the way: did you already get your ticket for X Fighters?

Taka threw down a near flawless, run featuring a massive seat-grab flip to score a massive 216 points which Robbie Maddison couldn't find an answer to. Maddo's score of 199 points (same as he scored in the first final) was basically a flip trick short of Taka's score. In a last ditch effort he also hucked a seat-grab flip over the 120 footer, but it looked a little sketchy.
Final number two was a dissapointing end for Sincs (forth), who ended up scoring only 156 points due to using too much time spent on the back section of the course between scoring jumps. Talking to him after the run he said he was trying to avoid wasting the last two jumps hitting the small doubles in the bottom of the course under the Red Bull bridge. It appeard Maddo also fell victim to wasting time in the same area during his run.

Best whip has just started and Tye is holding is 350SX-F on the hard on the limmiter. Again its out of Tye Simmonds, Lewis Woods and Kirk Gibbs. The wind has gone and Lewi looks keen to improve his second place from yesterday and just got his whip over verticle. Speed and style is coming up next. The whip comp just finished as we speak and Lewi Woods just took it out.
The riders and crowd alike were amped up for the speed and style finals after an awesome morning of FMX and massive whips. Marshall had been the hot favourite around the pits from first practice on Friday with his vast race and FMX experience. A head to head format was used, with tricks scored out of 10. Each point from your run took half a second off your lap time. First round winner Sincs, figured the best way to beat a racer was to stick it up the inside as far as possible in the first corner and slow the other rider down. Wedging himself between the hay bails and Kirk Gibbs both riders ended up going down in a cloud of dust. Sincs kept his bike going and got back on first, getting into his run of big tricks. Kirk couldn't put a pass on Sincs until the big double-double section at the top of the course which blew his laptime out to the point Cam easily took the win on points.
Dan McCoy and Luke Styke were busting out some tidy runs combining their awesome speed with a surprising array of tricks for racers. DMC pulled Double Cans, Supermans and even a side show while Styke went for the more is more approach putting as many small tricks into each job as he could manage. Lawson Bopping even hucked a big Cordova over the 160ft double. Taka flipped more than anyone in his run and even though usually had one of slowest lap times his massive scores ensured his overall time was consistently at the top.
Maddo under rotated a Flip on the return jump in front of the judging tower and landed hard (although still on the bike) and although he took the win easily over Sauly, had to pull out from the second round. DMC moved in to take his place, with the next best overall to face off against Boppo.
The standings going into final two:
1) Tye Simmonds vs Cam Sincair 2) Robbie Marshall vs Luke Stykes
3) Lewis Woods vs Taka Higashino 4) Lawson Bopping vs Daniel McCoy
Sincs' hole shot tactic didn't work on Tye in the second round. He got caught up on a hay bail and went down, Tye managed to go wide around the outside and literally leave Sincs in the dust. Battered from going down Sincs got up to give chase but was feeling the effects of the crash and couldn't take it to Tye. Lewis was no match for another high scoring flip run from Taka and DMC stayed right on Boppo's rear guard while tricking all the scored jumps to take the second final.
DMC hanging off his KTM
The standings going into final three:
1) Tye Simmonds vs Robbie Marshall
2) Taka Higashino vs Daniel McCoy
Marshall showed Tye in final 3 that a fast run of Whips and Nac Nacs was not going to be enough to secure the top place on the podium. Marshall although not flipping, showed that combining fully extended grab tricks and fast pace between jumps to be the winning combination. Taka dispatched of DMC in his usual trick heavy fashion.
McCoy and Tye then faced off for the minor placing. As in the last round, Tye's lightning fast lap was not enough to make up for a lack of variation in his tricks handing the third place to McCoy.

Whether it is eating a cannoli or being a part of the Da Boot Crew, Italian FMX rider Massimo Bianconcini is determined to take the world by storm.
Bianconcini, a native of Bologna, Italy, became interested in FMX after he watched a Crusty Demons film over 15 years ago.
“Crusty Demons is how I got into FMX,” he said.
Massimo is only a recent professional, starting seven years ago with a “little freestyle contest” in Holland. Holland was one of the first countries in Europe to have a freestyle track at the time.
“In the beginning I was scared…then when we came back to Italy we decided to build ramps and get started,"Bianconcini said.
Bianconcini said it was important to ride in the small events in Italy because it was more training for him.
While he holds the 4th position overall at the Night of the Jumps, he says that “Red Bull X-Fighter is the best competition.”
Bianconcini also talked about his relationship with the Da Boot Crew, describing how the name of the group was formed.
“We were going to Prague for a freestyle show…someone suggested Da Boot, it means boot in motocross and because Italy is shaped like a boot…Da Boot means the opposite of too bad,” he said.
Massimo has many plans to round out the year. In September, he will be going to the Czech Republic to prepare for X-Fighters in Rome.
“It was a dream because only seven years ago I was watching it on the TV…I am really happy and proud,” he said.
Here are some of the other interview questions I asked Massimo:
• Linguini or Ravioli?
Ravioli
• Panini or Cannoli?
Cannoli
• Vatican City or Leaning Tower of Pisa?
Learning Tower of Pisa.
• The Godfather Part 1 or 2?
Part 1.
• Who would you like to thank?
My sponsor, my family, my girlfriend.
• Is there anything you’d like to add that I haven’t covered?
The Da Boot Crew for me is like a family, the riders are like brothers.

18-year-old New Zealander Levi Sherwood is arguably the best dirt bike riders hitting ramps at this very moment. Coming off a Red Bull X-Fighters win in Moscow, Russia, a silver medal at X Games (a lot think it should be a gold), and another X-Fighters win in London, England, Sherwood is proving himself as FMX's new hot commodity. His tricks are undeniably spectacular, his extension is second-to-none, and his style is beyond smooth, yet the formidable hype surrounding this rookie in his sophomore year doesn't even come close to fazing the cheery Kiwi.
I hit up Sherwood to discuss his most recent win in London, as well as get to the root of what makes his riding so insane. If you're looking for some sort of miracle answer on how to pull tricks as big as his, you're sure to be let down. His answer as to what makes his so sick? "I just like to have fun." Well, I guess that IS what 18-year-olds are all about, right?
You'll never see an indy grab like this from any other rider. If you already have, I don't believe you.
ESPN.com: What's going on? Did you just get back from London?
Levi Sherwood: Yeah man. I'm taking my suspension in to get worked on so I can go trail riding tomorrow.
Nice. So, how did it feel to win this past weekend in London even though you guys didn't really get to ride a contest?
Well, I'm happy that I won because I got some points, but it didn't really feel like a win, you know? It was just like, I don't know, pretty bland. We all knew going into qualifying that the overall would probably go off of those results by default, so that's why I kind of pushed it so hard in qualifying. After Mexico I didn't want the same thing to happen again. [Referring to Andre Villa's win based off qualifyers due to the final being cancelled by a rainstorm.]
"I just try to keep it fun so that it remains fresh for me. In the past when I've put a lot of pressure on myself and tried hard it's always just backfired on me." -- Levi Sherwood
So even though you guys didn't ride the event, you went out and put on a show -- but you were still riding really good considering how wet and dangerous the course was. Was it because you didn't want to let the fans down?
Well, we all went out there as the show was about to start, but it was ridiculously wet. The double double line had mesh all the way to the corners and there were a couple of other ramps that were alright, so we could do kind of a triangle loop, but we couldn't really put down a real freestyle run. I was probably the only one that was taking it easy because I was happy that I had already taken the win and I knew it was pretty dodgy. Like you saw Andre [Villa] go out there because obviously he wanted to ride, but he tried proving a point that the course was fine and it really just backfired on him.
So, you're pretty much proving yourself as the best FMX rider in the world right now. Your tricks are getting bigger at each and every event and you're riding really consistent at the moment. What's the deal? How do continue to get better by the second?
Um, well when I ride I don't really focus on anything. I don't know. I just try to keep it fun so that it remains fresh for me. In the past when I've put a lot of pressure on myself and tried hard it's always just backfired on me. But I think what's really got me riding better this year is just a lot of bad finishes because that just pushes me to do better, you know? Like after X Games, I did a photo shoot three days after and I'm kind of bummed because out there it felt like I was riding ten times better than I was at X Games. I don't know, it just works out that way. Sherwood celebrates his first 2010 Red Bull X-Fighters win in Moscow, Russia.
So there's no rhyme or reason why your tricks are so insane?
No man. [laughs] You don't just think to yourself, "Alright, I'm going to pull this trick bigger than I ever have and hold it longer and extend it further than ever before?"
Well, obviously that's the goal to make it bigger and hold it as long as I can, but you can practice that all day long and you get to an event and there will be a crappy ramp or you get to an event and it will have the poppiest ramp you've ever jumped, so it all depends. But yeah, you know, I always try to focus on that.
Gotcha. Yeah, I seems like your tricks have been getting better every time I see you ride. Do you think switching from the four-stroke to the two-stroke has helped you out in that department?
Yeah. Yeah, I think that since I've started riding the two-stroke I've been actually riding a lot better and I can go ride a course without worrying about making all the jumps. It's allowed me to worry less about my riding and more about my tricks themselves. I feel a lot more confident on the bike and I'm a lot more happy riding it.
"There was just something about Drake McElroy that made him stand out. He just had soul without trying." -- Levi Sherwood
Since you're such a stylish rider, when you first started riding FMX was there a stylish rider that stuck out in your head; maybe someone you emulated?
Drake McElroy. There was just something about it that made him stand out. He just had soul without trying. You see people without soul trying to put soul into their riding and it never works out. Me and my brother -- because I started riding with my brother -- just always used to look up to him and liked his riding style.
You're riding at such a high level right now; do you feel like you're anywhere near your peak? Do you even know where your peak is?
Um, I've never really thought about that. I always feel that -- I'm not always peeking, but I can tell when I'm riding at my best that year and stuff like that. And I kind of peek, but then I take a break and take time off, and then new tricks will come out and you'll hit another peak. I feel like it goes in ups and downs rather than just peeking all at once.
I know that you've been busting out some new tricks lately. Is that something you consciously try to do -- as far inventing new tricks -- or do they just come to you? Like what's up with the cordova seatgrab?
I try to think of tricks all the time, but nothing ever comes to me. [laughs] It's hard. But I wasn't the first to do that trick [cordova seatgrab] -- Jack Rowe was the first to do that. It was a few years ago -- I think I was 15 at the time -- I had always thought about doing that trick and I saw online that he'd done it, so after seeing it was possible I landed a couple and then I only started doing it again this year. I've been doing a bunch of tricks this year that I learned when I was younger, like 15, and I kind of just forget about them. I try to throw tricks in my runs that not too many people do -- stuff that's kind of different.
And this is what you call a, uh ... ruler flip, KOD flip, scorpion flip ... whatever you call it, Sherwood does it like nobody else in the biz.
It seems like it's just so difficult to invent new tricks these days because everything is so gnarly. Are there any crazy new flip combos in your head that you want to try?
Um, there are a few. I don't know. I think a lot of the tricks I think of are like a new spin on a flip trick, and what seems to happen when I ride a foam pit is I can't say no to anything so I'll give it a few shots, but I won't get it straight away so I'll throw in the towel. I was working on a new trick every couple days in Switzerland when I was visiting with Mat [Rebeaud], but I just got tired of riding the foam pit. So I just really need to spend more time doing it, like when I'm in New Zealand during the off-season when I can actually put in the time. It's hard though, new tricks don't come as easy as maybe back in the day, because they're all body varials and stuff like that.
"I just try to do what I do and carry on like I always have. I don't really like cocky people and people like that, so I really want to avoid being like that."
-- Levi Sherwood
Have you thought about doing the whole body varial thing like we've seen Robbie Maddison do lately?
As far as that stuff goes, I've kind of thought about it, but at the same time I realize that stuff is for certain riders. I've always thought that stuff like that is for people trying to break into the scene -- obviously Maddo's not in that category because he's just nuts -- but I've always thought the gnarlier tricks are for people that need that extra boost breaking into the sport. I just try to focus on putting together an overall better run because what you kind of see is -- like Maddo -- you see him land it [the Volt] ten times, but it's such a difficult trick that one little slip up can end in a bad result, and I kind of don't like to ride on the edge like that.
And how about the 360, is that something you've thought of mastering?
Yeah, I've tried them a few times. I can do them in the foam pit, but back to the whole foam pit-riding-thing -- I don't really put in enough time to get them to where I want to do them on dirt. I really should, but I just don't like foam pits at all. [laughs] I just don't feel like I need to do it at this point.
Yeah, that makes total sense. Throughout the past year you've gained a lot more notoriety, yet you continue to stay level headed. I know that all the riders in the sport also like you for this reason. Is it hard to keep cool when you know that you're one of the sickest dudes on a dirt bike at this very moment?
Not really. I just try to do what I do and carry on like I always have. I don't really like cocky people and people like that, so I really want to avoid being like that, you know? And obviously people might think I'm the man to beat, but I always feel that they're always the ones I'm trying to beat. I've never gone to a competition and thought, "Yeah, I got this," you know? I always feel like I'm coming into the competition from behind, rather going in thinking I'm going to win.

CRUSTY DEMONS THIRST 4 DESTRUCTION TOUR DATES/INFO
Crusty Demons announce bold new plans for Thirst 4 Destruction Tour
Melbourne, Australia (6 June 2010) – Today marks the beginning of a new era in the sport of freestyle motocross with Australia’s premier live sport and entertainment company Dainty Consolidated Entertainment announcing its future vision and commitment to the world's leading live action sports brand – The Crusty Demons.
Pioneering a new era for the Crusty Demons, ‘Thirst 4 Destruction’ will tour the country throughout October and November and will feature a completely transformed show, with more thrills, spills and FMX skills than ever seen at a Crusty Demons show before.
Utilising the extensive music and theatrical resources of Dainty Consolidated Entertainment, the second generation of Crusty Demons promises to reign over live action sports entertainment and fans should only have one expectation - expect the unexpected.
As further testament to Dainty Consolidated Entertainment's commitment to not only the Crusty Demons brand but also the sport of freestyle motocross as a whole, a selection of the sports leading riders have signed up exclusively on multi-year deals.
The line up will include some of the biggest names in freestyle motocross from Australia, United States & across the globe whose lack of fear will be complemented by some of the world’s best stunt professionals attempting the unachievable with their motorised innovations.
The world-class rider line-up has been assembled over the past six months with its foundations built around Australia’s best freestyle motocross talent.
The Crusty Demons are proud to present the new King of freestyle, Jackson Strong, who hurled himself into the world record books for landing an awe-inspiring front flip at the recent Crusty Demons Regional tour at Cairns.
Selected as a firm favourite for the X-Games, the 18-year-old’s achievement has seen him issued with an invitation to compete at the renowned extreme sports event in California.
“I am stoked to part of the Crusty family,” said Strong. “One of the best parts for me is that I will now have input into the shows and direction of the Crusty Demons.
“For me, it is an awesome opportunity that will allow me to focus all my time on riding and perfecting my front flip without the worry of chasing jobs.
“It is exciting that Dainty Consolidated Entertainment have recognised us as elite athletes and offered long term deals like all other professional sports. I can’t wait to do front flips for everyone on the Thirst 4 Destruction Tour, that will be the only place for Australian fans to see me do the front flip,” Strong continued.
Flanking Lockhart’s wacko Jacko will be the notorious Kain Saul who played role reversal in 2009, becoming the first person to back flip a 257 kg, 100 horsepower Harley Davidson XR1200 Sportster. This has to be seen, to be believed!
“I feel honoured to be one of the first riders to sign up to a multi-year deal with the Crusty Demons,” said Saul. “As an athlete it is great to have my future mapped out and to also now have a say in the direction of the Crusty Demons.
“We are very fortunate to have the resources of Dainty Consolidated Entertainment behind us and we all share the common goal of making this best action sports show on earth,” Saul added.
Original madman Seth Enslow, who is a founding member of the Crusty Demons and world record holder for a long-distance jump at 175ft on a Harley Davidson, is also confirmed and you won’t believe what he has planned.
The brand new, never before seen show will unleash two months of thrilling action, kicking off in Perth on October 16, before carving a path of destruction across the country.
Excitement has washed over the fans and organisers alike in expectancy of more big announcements in the coming weeks including the remainder of the all-star team.

FLESHWOUND FILMS CREW AT IT AGAIN FILMING IN AUS......
This was one of Schuies warm-up Flips over 120-foot ramp to dirt, wait till you see the sequence!
The word was out that Matt "Schuie" Schubring had a film session going down over two days at his compound and the Ten-Pack with Jon Freeman and Dana Nicholson from Fleshwound Films. I jumped straight on my bike and made the two hour trek rolling up just in time for the boys first session. The riders – Schuie, Robbie Marshall, Kain Saul, Jake Bowan, Joel Balchin, Steve Sommerfeld, and Mick Hall warmed up over the 75-foot ramp to dirt and 75-foot dirt to dirt while a pocket of afternoon sun shone through. That didn't last long, so it was decided it was time to hit up Schuies natural terrain hits on the other side of his property, and this is when things heated up. Schuie is the master of big dirt hits and that's why he builds them so faarkin huge. First up they hit the 110-foot to dirt hit, which is a good warm up as the run in is smooth and it pops the riders up nicely over the side of the hill and landing on a nice downhill lander. The boys had fun on this one, ending with six rider trains popping tricks at the same time. The afternoon rolled on as the clouds covered the sky and the light faded. Schuie, Robbie and Joel nailed the 180-footer, and the big step-up that claimed Steve Mini earlier int he year was a hit, but my highlight would have to be when Schuie sacked up and Combo Flipped the 120-foot ramp to dirt hit that the only other rider to hit was Robbie Marshall, its a big girl! Bilko is the only other rider besides these two to hit take it on, with Schuie explaining, "It's scares most riders!" I'll let the pictures tell the story from here as I gotta fly. Schuies cooking up breakfast and then we're off to the Ten-Pack, bring it on! Stay tuned for more photos and footage, cheers Goba.

The Crusty Demons Beyond the Apocalypse Tour witnessed the triumphant return of Freestyle Motocross superstar Cam Sinclair today at Darwin’s TIO Stadium, with his successful landing of one of the sport’s most difficult tricks - the death-defying double back flip.
Cam Sinclair chose this steaming hot Darwin afternoon for his comeback to the FMX scene, following a near fatal crash while attempting his world-renowned double back flip in Spain last July. That night in Madrid, Sinclair under rotated the trick with the wreck resulting in multiple head, shoulder and internal injuries.
Following seven months of intensive rehabilitation, Sinclair was psyched and ready to once again put his life on the line. As the screaming crowd of 6232 Crusty fans watched in anticipation, Sinclair took several sighting runs past the ramps before launching into the mighty double back flip. After two full rotations Sinclair landed sweetly, dropped his bike, fell to his knees and kissed the ground in a sign of exultant relief.
“Words can’t describe how I feel,” said a greatly relieved Cam Sinclair in his post-jump interview. “I nearly lost my life nine months ago doing the double back flip and after the crash I’d look back and think how did I used to do that trick.
“But I kept the faith that I could do it again and I’ve done it here today,” Sinclair concluded. “It’s an amazing feeling. An absolutely amazing feeling.”
Earlier in the day Queenslander Kain Saul back flipped a massive Harley-Davidson XR1200 for the second successive weekend. Saul is the only man to ever land the Harley-Davidson back flip, which he did recently on dirt and again last Saturday on the Gosford leg of the Crusty Demons Beyond The Apocalypse Tour. On that occasion Saul landed awkwardly and has spent the past week undergoing daily physiotherapy on his injured back to be ready to flip the mighty beast here in Darwin. Today, however, Saul extended the ramps by two feet, reduced his approach speed and landed this insane trick with apparent ease.
“That felt great,” exclaimed the normally reserved Kain Saul. “I got it all the way round and landed it almost perfectly. I hit my butt on the seat and tweaked last week’s back injury a bit but it’s all good and it’s just great to get it done.”
Nineteen-year-old daredevil Jackson Strong once again came within mere centimetres of landing the most dangerous trick in freestyle motocross - the legendary front flip - for the first time ever on Australian soil. As with last weekend’s attempt Strong was a few degrees short of full rotation, causing him to flip over the handlebars headfirst onto the front wheel. With only minor bruising and a cut lip Strong declared he’ll be ready for another crack at the front flip at the Bundaberg stop of the Crusty Demons Beyond The Apocalypse Tour on May 15.
Other show highlights that kept Darwin fans on the edge of their seats included Texan Caleb Moore back flipping a quad bike, Aussie Ben Fiez attempting not one but two double backs flips on a mini bike, amazing freestyle combinations and, of course, the beautiful Woodstock Crusty Babes.
The Crusty Demons Beyond The Apocalypse Tour now moves on to Bundaberg and Cairns where it promises to deliver the wildest brand of FMX mayhem regional Australia has ever witnessed.
Daredevil motorbike rider Seth Enslow has smashed the world record for the longest distance jumped on a Harley-Davidson.
He managed a leap between ramps of 55.99 metres - easily beating Bubba Blackwell's previous world record of 47.85 metres set in Las Vegas in 1999.
The stunt took place at Barangaroo, on Sydney harbour, today and is measured in feet because the previous records have been set in the US.
Asked if Enslow would now try to push the record further in future, a spokesman for Harley-Davidson told AAP: "I'd say so."
"That magical 200 feet mark is not far off and he was pretty comfortable today."
The stunt was 12 months in the planning and Enslow chose Australia for the location because he's got good mates here, the spokesman added.
His bike was pretty much a standard Harley-Davidson, apart from modified suspension.
In a previous attempt at the record, in an indoor arena in the US, Enslow injured himself badly, tearing a number of ligaments in his shoulder.
Seth Enslow will be performing at the Crusty Demons Beyond the Apocalypse Regional Tour in Australia. Come and see the legend live! Buy your tickets now

MEDIA RELEASE – CAM SINCLAIR RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL IN MADRID AND HEADING HOME!
Injured Aussie Freestyle Motocross (FMX) star Cam Sinclair has been allowed to leave hospital in Spain and receive further treatment closer to home in Melbourne, Australia.
Sinclair has been under close observation in the Gregorio Maranon University hospital in Madrid since he suffered a near fatal accident while competing in the Red Bull X Fighters event on July 17. The crash occurred when Sinclair under rotated his now signature double backflip, during a head to head battle with US competitor Jeremy ‘Twitch’ Stenberg.
Sinclair was rushed to hospital and had emergency surgery for a severely lacerated liver, head injuries, fractures to his cheek and right shoulder and damage to his lungs and wind pipe.
Luckily surgeons in Madrid were able to stop the internal bleeding, ultimately saving his life.
For Sinclair, being home in Australia will be the most important factor in his recovery process.
“I just want to be home around all my family and friends. I can’t wait to just lie on my own couch, watch TV and let my body heal.” Cam Sinclair said.
At this stage Sinclair will be admitted into hospital in Melbourne, where further scans and tests will clarify the further treatment necessary, however Sinclair is expected to make a full recovery.
For Sinclair to be released from Hospital in Madrid, he was required to travel via a business class flight, with a paramedic specially trained to assist patients with air travel.
Special thank you goes to Motorcycling Australia, The Athlete Recovery Fund, Rockstar Energy Drink and Metal Mulisha for there assistance in getting Cam home, the organizers of the Red Bull X Fighters and his many great fans and supporters from around the world.

BLAKE "BILKO" WILLIAMS WINS GOLD AND SILVER AT X-GAMES 15
Aussie Blake Williams takes X Games Gold and Silver:
Finals
RANK NAME
1 Blake Williams
2 Jeremy Stenberg
3 Nate Adams
4 Mat Rebeaud
Australian freestyle motocross (FMX) sensation Blake ‘Bilko’ Williams has taken Gold and Silver in his biggest competition event of the year, X Games 15, which was held at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles this weekend.
The invite-only action sports event brings together the world’s best athletes to battle it out for Gold, Silver and Bronze in their respective discipline.
Williams collected silver in yesterday’s Moto X Best Trick, with a 360 Indian air and perfectly-executed cliffhanger flip to no-handed lander bringing the crowd and fellow riders to their feet.
With the judges proving hard to impress, Bilko dug deep into his repertoire of tricks today to take a deserved career-first gold in Moto X Freestyle by a single point after three runs.
The achievement also marks the first time an international rider has taken a Gold medal in the Freestyle category in the history of X Games.
The result is the ultimate reward for the 24-year-old from Baxter in country Victoria, who has now reached the action sport’s pinnacle.
“After being robbed of gold in the Best Trick event last night it really lit a fire under my belly to settle for nothing less than gold tonight,” said Williams, whose previous best X Games medal was a bronze.
“I am stoked, tonight was the one that counted and it was an amazing feeling to get the win in front of my Mum and Dad who flew over for the event.
“It has been a long couple of weeks and to be honest I actually didn’t have the preparation I would have liked.
“I want to dedicate the medal to the late Jeremy Lusk and Bronte Holland and also my mate Cam Sinclair who I should have been competing against tonight.”
The next event on Bilko’s schedule is the Wendy’s Invititional at Portland, the first of three FMX stops on the 2009 Dew Tour.
Ends.

CAM SINCLAIR CRASHES AT RED BULL X-FIGHTERS - OUR PRAYERS
Cam Sinclair is in an induced coma in Spain after underrotating a double backflip.
Cam was competing in the final of the Red Bull X Fighters event on Saturday when the accident occurred.
A double backflip Sinclair had been attempting uncharteristcally underrotated and nosedived into the ramp.
Footage of the accident shows Sinclair slam into the ramp and his bike crash on top of him. View video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RB-Qr75RSiQ
Cam didn't move after coming to rest on the ramp.Knocked unconscious by the force of the impact and rushed to hospital where surgeons operated on a broken shoulder and ruptured liver.
Since the accident Cam has been fighting for his life in a critical condition in Madrid. He suffered a broken shoulder, broken cheek bone, a ruptured liver and was knocked unconscious. Due to the rupture in his liver he had emergency surgery for internal bleeding. Thankfully surgeons were able to stop the bleeding.
At this stage Cam remains in a critical condition, however has improved over night. He has opened his eyes and is responding to instructions to raise his arms and squeeze his fiance Brooke’s hand. This is great news, as there was bruising on his brain; the fact that he is responding to their commands is a really really good sign.
Cam had qualified second for the finals and was hoping for his first X fighters win.
We wish Cam and his family all the very best and trust he's in good hands and will make a speedy recovery.
The 2009 X-Games, beginning on July 30th in California, could become a huge success for the Crusty Demons as an unprecedented number of riders have been invited to compete.
Americans Adam Jones, Mike Mason, Beau Bamburg and Nate Adams have all been given the nod, as well as Australians Blake 'Bilko' Williams, and Cam 'Sincs' Sinclair. Also, Levi Sherwood, winner of the Red Bull X-Fighters round in Mexico, will become the first Kiwi to compete in Freestyle at X Games.
The Crusty Demons wish all these guys the very best, and hope X-Games 15 will be a Crusty-dominated competition.
Adam Jones - Freestyle
Mike Mason - Freestlye
Levi Sherwood - Freestyle
Beau Bamburg - Freestyle
Bilko Williams - Freestyle
Nate Adams - Freestyle
Cam Sinclair - Best Trick
These are the preliminary invites, and are subject to change before competition begins on July 30th.
CRUSTY TOUR'S HUGE FINALE AT PERTH'S BURSWOOD DOME
A sold out crowd of 15,000 screaming fans witnessed the final stop of the Crusty Demons Beyond the Apocalypse Tour at the Burswood Dome in Perth on the weekend. The atmosphere was amazing and all of the riders responded with their best performances of the tour. Cam Sinclair made it a perfect nine from nine attempts at the double back flip and Ben Fiez also managed to pull of another double back flip on his min bike. America’s Beau Bamburg took out the final whip competition and Bilko claimed top honours in the back flip combination competition with a 360 heel clicker to no hander lander.
All of the Crustys rode with their shirts off in the final trick trains, pulling off all of the biggest tricks in FMX one after the other and causing yet another standing ovation. The American riders and a selection of Australian riders will now head to the USA for the competition season and everyone at Crusty wishes them the best of luck!
The Crusty Demons performed two huge shows at the Acer Arena on the weekend, which was a fitting send off for Australia’s Matt Schubring, who has decided to retire from touring to pursue other interests in the industry.
Once again the crowds at both shows were loud and crazy in showing their appreciation for the Crustys and their amazing performances.
Much to the delight of the crowd, both nights had their thrills and spills. The biggest came on Saturday night when Ben Fiez jumped off mid flight in his double back flip mini bike attempt, which sent him flying into the air and rolling onto the main lander. Thankfully he escaped without any serious injury.
Sincs had another two successful double back flip attempts and Adam Jones pulled out all stops for his last two shows on the tour.

The Crusty Demons Beyond the Apocalypse Tour made its worldwide debut in Melbourne on the weekend with two huge shows. Almost 25,000 fans over two nights packed the Rod Laver Arena as they screamed and cheered their way through the mind blowing shows.
The two local riders, Cam Sinclair and Bilko, stole both shows with Cam Sinclair performing two perfect double back flips and Bilko proving he back to his best by pulling off a number of jackhammer back flips and his signature 360’s. Bilko was so fired up he even pulled off a 360 heel clicker on the Saturday night.
Ben Fiez pulled off his first ever double back flip on a mini bike and the final back flip combination train with all riders created a standing ovation on both nights.
The tour will now make its way to Brisbane with a show on Friday May 22 and Saturday May 23 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

Seth Enslow better known through his role with the Crusty Demons of Dirt and his motorcycle distance jumping records, is out to set a new world record jump on a Harley-Davidson. The Harley-Davidson he plans to jump is a brand new XR1200 with specially developed suspension. Enslow plans to break previous records set on an Harley-Davidson XR750 by none other than Evel Knievel, who in February 1971 set a new world record by jumping 19 cars and a distance of 151 feet (46m). Later beating Kinevel was Bubba Blackwell then pushed past the record by jumping 157 feet (47.8).
Enslow now wants to jump the XR1200 past the 200 foot (60.9m) mark.

CRUSTY DEMONS RIDER 17 YR OLD RIDER LEVI SHERWOOD WINS REDBULL X-FIGHTERS
I cannot believe what I just witnessed. 17-year-old New Zealander Levi Sherwood just won the first round of the Red Bull X-Fighters. In his first major contest, Levi went head to head with reigning X-Fighters champion Mat Rebeaud and emerged victorious. Levi impressed every single spectator in the stadium with his insane extension and one-of-a-kind style. Tonight, Levi made FMX history and there has never been a better time to be a fan of the sport. If I'm not mistaken, Levi is the youngest rider to win a Red Bull X-Fighters event.
Finishing an impressive second place was Eigo Sato of Japan. This wasn't Eigo's first time riding Red Bull X-Fighters in Mexico City, but it was his first time placing in the top three. Eigo busted out all of his tricks with his signature style, but in the end, it wasn't enough to beat Sherwood.
Mat Rebeaud rounded out the top three, with a good run, but not one of his best. We all know what Mat Rebeaud is capable of and tonight, there seemed to be a bit something missing from his tricks. Regardless, Mat killed the course, getting in more hits than most and ending up with a solid third.
I just want to congratulate both Levi and Eigo for putting in such impressive runs and throwing a wrench in the spokes of the Red Bull X-Fighters results. What an awesome event. More to come. I'm going to bed. Adios! For more information, photos and videos check out redbullxfighters.com

HERE IS SOME PICS OF WHAT WENT DOWN ON THE DAY!
FEATURED RIDERS PICTURED BELOW ARE:

LEVI SHERWOOD
NICK FRANKLIN
Right now Levi is touring his native country as a member of the Crusty Demon Unleashed Hell Tour, and he's no new-kid-on-the-block either, as he joined Crusty in 2004 at the ripe age of 14, which is pretty impressive considering most kids that age are the ones cheering on the Crusty Demons from the stands, not jumping 75-foot gaps in front of thousands.
Levi feels right at home riding alongside the Crusty crew, with him saying, "Its a bit like family, you travel and hang out together, and get to know each other pretty well. I've been lucky to ride with some the worlds best and it always makes you want to go out and learn as much as you can. I love riding the Crusty shows as the fans are a lot more enthusiastic than at a lot of the other shows so it pumps you right up. Also riding with the worlds best pushes you as well. For someone who has never been to a Crusty show it's hard to explain how loud the crowd is; it's out of control!"
Crusty Demons pay tribute to FMX legend Jeremy Lusk
Christchurch show dedicated to amazing rider who tragically lost his life this week
The Crusty Demons performed in an emotion charged show in Christchurch(New Zealand) last night
following the shocking news that fellow rider and friend Jeremy Lusk had passed away.
Lusk, who was one of the world’s greatest riders, succumbed to the injuries he sustained from a horrific crash,
whilst performing a back flip Indy seat grab at a competition in Costa Rica on the weekend. He had been fighting
for his life in hospital but the severity of his head injuries eventually overtook him.
The terrible news was received on Tuesday evening and sent a shock wave through the Crusty Demons touring party. Lusk was
known by all members of the group and was a very close friend to a few, particularly American riding buddy Adam Jones.
The crowd of 6,000 inside Christchurch’s Westpac Indoor Stadium rose as one at the start of the show to partake in a minute’s
silence. The stadium was dark except for an image of Lusk on the big screen, which all of the riders looked up to with obvious pain and
emotion on their face. Once the show kicked off all riders performed amazingly and bravely.
The thoughts and prayers of everyone involved in the Crusty Demons are with Lusk’s family and friends at this difficult time.
RIP Jeremy Lusk
It is with great sadness that we report Jeremy Lusk succumbed to his injures tonight at 11:03pm PST. He was surrounded by his loving Mother and father, Chuck & Gina Lusk, his wonderful wife Lauren, his mother and father in law Lyne & Larry along with his closest Mulisha friends Brian Deegan, Ryan Hagy, Cameron Steele & Erik Apple. He is now with our Heavenly Father and is at peace. We know he is performing sick tricks for all those in Heaven to crowds greater than we have ever seen. We will miss you Pitbull!
The Crusty Demons Unleash Hell Tour will be the biggest and most extravagant youth sporting event ever to come to NZ.
The Crusty Demons shows are globally acclaimed. Each show will be a huge entertainment extravaganza and will be a rare chance for New Zealand fans to see the world's top Freestyle Motocross riders in action. If you want to see the biggest, craziest tricks in the world, come to a Crusty show.
The line-up includes world number one Nate Adams, X Games gold medalist Adam Jones, world number three Mike Mason, Jim McNeil and Nicky Danielson all direct from the USA. New Zealand's own Luke Smith is sure to provide some insane riding for his home crowd along with Levi Sherwood who is one of the biggest upcoming talents in FMX across the globe.
Also performing are Australia's number one Blake 'Bilko' Williams, with fellow Aussies Steve Mini, Matt Schubring, Joel Balchin, Kain Saul and Cam Sinclair.
Global Action Sports Managing Director, Mike Porra, said that New Zealand Crusty fans will be blown away by this tour which features the biggest FMX stunts ever performed.
'We are so stoked to be bringing this tour to New Zealand. This is the full international show that is a much larger production than 2007 with more ramps, riders, bikes, pyrotechnics and entertainment. It is guaranteed to leave people gasping for breath and is all about getting the adrenaline pumping.'
Fans can expect to see more than 50 different tricks performed at the shows including the most death-defying trick in extreme sport, the double back flip, performed on a 200kg, 250cc dirt bike. Australia's Cam Sinclair will be performing the trick, which has only ever been completed a handful of times in history, only twice outside the USA, and never before in New Zealand. Audiences will also see various back flip combinations, where riders perform various FMX tricks whilst upside down in the middle of a back flip.
The tour will make its way around New Zealand in 2009
